2021 Recap and Looking forward to 2022

2021 Recap and Looking forward to 2022

2021 Recap

Both 2020 and 2021 was a challenging time for the world. Global supply shortages and global logistics issues particularly in chip manufacturing as governments continue to respond to COVID19 with endless lockdowns and volatile economic policies are but a few of the challenges we all continue to face going into the new year.

For TeamRed, just as we thought that things may be getting back to normal in 2021, we got slammed with more lockdowns, supply chain disruptions, and the inability to meet in person in order to engage in direct collaborative brainstorming. It slowed down our capacity to acquire a consistent supply of chips, and our speed in developing the much-awaited firmware update and VPN features. 2021 was truly a rough year filled with setbacks and challenges.

Regardless of these challenges, your security has always been our priority focus. In 2021 alone, Pangolin devices globally have blocked and prevented over 150K verified threats, over 1 million trackers, and over 2 million suspicious traffic sources. Throughout these challenging times we maintained and updated our security policies in order to keep up to date with the latest threats from all corners of the internet. Over 10,000 new threats were classified and categorized in 2021 alone. In 2020 through 2021, we saw the continued rise of ransomware, phishing, and cryptojacking to name a few. At TeamRed we have also seen a global rise in remote worker endpoint breaches, sophisticated IoT attacks, and an increase in mobile malware. Threat actors are constantly and rapidly evolving at a pace we have never seen before. As we have promised from the very beginning, TeamRed will continue to maintain and update the security policies of the Pangolin Platform.

In 2021, the Pangolin Smart Firewall received a cybersecurity level 2 labelling from the Cyber Security Agency (CSA) of Singapore following a stringent review process of the Pangolin’s capabilities and our security protocols and practices by the Singaporean government. This marked an important achievement for our team as this was the first independent review by a government body that we had undertaken.

Exciting Announcements

2022 will be an exciting year for TeamRed and the Pangolin Platform. As of December 2021, we have entered alpha phase testing of the Pangolin Platforms VPN features. Initial testing has yielded results that have exceeded even our initial expectations. From early 2022 you will be able to take the Pangolin Smart Firewall platform with you anywhere you may want to go. Gone will be the days of awkward VPN configurations, port configurations, and messy account directory configurations. The new VPN functions of the Pangolin platform will provide a one tap setup that will make it simple and painless for consumers and businesses to set up secure VPNs – no matter where they may be. On top of the new features coming in 2022, we have made considerable leaps in improving the performance of the device and the companion app. All these new features will come at no additional costs to all our current users.

We understand the anticipation for the coming new features, and we kindly ask for your patience as we strive to make certain that we deliver a quality bug free update to our users.

Finally, we would like to thank all our users for trusting us. Your trust in us gives us the motivation to keep improving and striving for a safer and more secure online experience. Your feedback has been tremendously helpful for us in improving the user experience.

From everyone at TeamRed, we wish everyone a safe and prosperous 2022.
